Marcello "Rosie Lee" Pope is a Texas-Born, Austin, TX based artist whose work spans from painting, drawing, scholarly research and poetry. His multidisciplinary practice engages current discourse concerning black aesthetics in abstraction, portraiture, and African American vernacular. Influenced by his travels, Hip-Hop culture and past African American artists, Lee explores spatial development of urban areas and the relationship African Americans have to form and color.
